A Dreamy Wedding in the South of France: Olivia & Matthew at Les Jardins de Campagne

There’s just something about weddings in the South of France — the light, the gardens, the effortless charm. Olivia & Matthew’s wedding at Les Jardins de Campagne in Nîmes was exactly that kind of day. As a France Destination Wedding photographer, it was the kind of day that makes you pinch yourself: gorgeous surroundings, fun people, and moments that feel completely alive.

How They Met (and Why It Feels Meant to Be)

Olivia and Matthew’s story has adventure written all over it. They met as scuba diving instructors in the Caribbean — yes, literally working and travelling together surrounded by turquoise waters and sun-drenched decks. Fast forward a few years and lots of shared adventures, and here we are: a wedding in France that felt like an extension of all the incredible travels they’ve done together.

Their proposal was classic drama-and-romance: stormy skies at Lulworth Cove, Matt gets down on one knee, and then suddenly — the sun breaks through for the rest of the day. If that doesn’t say “perfectly them,” I don’t know what does.

Vibes on the Day

The whole day had this relaxed, joyful energy. Guests wandered through the gardens, chatted over a glass of rosé, and soaked in the light that only the South of France can give you. Inside the house, the bridal party were buzzing with excitement — little moments of laughter, quiet nerves, and friends making sure everything ran smoothly. The humanist ceremony was warm, personal, and full of smiles.

Reception, Food & Music

After the ceremony, it was straight into the party vibes. The catering team pulled off an incredible feast — full of those little “wow” moments that make wedding breakfasts feel special. The chef even made a cameo in a few of my shots, because let’s be honest, food is totally a part of the story.

Florals made the gardens even more magical — think soft tones, elegant arrangements, and just the right amount of whimsy. Music was handled by a jazz collective during dinner, then friends took over for DJ duties later. Olivia & Matthew had so much fun curating playlists in the lead-up, and it really showed on the dance floor.

Documenting the Day

As a South of France Wedding Photographer, I focus on catching all the moments that make a day feel real. That means candid laughter, little gestures between the couple, kids running through the gardens, and guests just being themselves. From wide shots of the venue to tiny details like floral arrangements, food, and the cake, every image tells a piece of the story.

The day felt effortless — a combination of the setting, the couple’s personalities, and the amazing team of vendors all working together.

Why the South of France is Perfect for a Destination Wedding

Les Jardins de Campagne has it all: gorgeous gardens, a dreamy house, and a relaxed French countryside vibe. For couples who want a day that feels personal, timeless, and a little adventurous, it’s a dream. Olivia & Matthew loved returning to a place they had lived before — every corner, every table, every path in the garden had memories and good vibes.

As a France Destination Wedding photographer and Destination Wedding Photographer, days like this are why I love my job. You get to be part of a day that’s completely unique to the couple, in a setting that’s already cinematic, and capture moments that are impossible to recreate.

The Perfect September Day

Olivia & Matthew’s wedding was full of laughter, love, and relaxed celebration. From heartfelt moments during the ceremony to fun dancing in the gardens, every image tells a story. A wedding in the South of France isn’t just about the venue or the view — it’s about the people, the little moments, and the way the day feels.

And as someone behind the camera, those are the moments I live for.
